Operations Manager
Martin’s role is primarily managing projects from secured order through to handover, including but not restricted to, programming, labour & plant management, procurement, sub-contractor appointments, and acting as the link with the client. He is also involved with business development and provides a link with the commercial team to ensure strong relationships are developed with clients.
He has been involved in the Groundwork/Civil Engineering sector since 1985. Firstly, as a chain boy with a local civils contractor through to running his own groundwork contracting business for over 25 years.
GSJP has given Martin the opportunity to work with a young and dynamic team, whereby he can pass on his years of experience within the industry and assist in the personal growth of the team members, which is highly rewarding. Creating a legacy is extremely satisfying at the tail end of his career.
Martin is a keen cricketer, who is squeezing out the last remnants of his playing days whilst he’s able to. He has also participated in many long-distance cycling challenges, the full coastline of Britain solo and unsupported being the pinnacle. He enjoys spending time socialising with friends and family whilst watching his grandchildren grow up way too fast.
