Project Manager
As Project Manager at GSJP, Mat oversees civil engineering projects from the initial design stages through to completion. Acting as the key link between clients, design engineers, subcontractors, and site teams, he ensures projects are delivered safely, efficiently, on time, and within budget.
Mat began his career as a bricklayer before moving into the utilities industry, where he worked on major gas replacement projects for clients including SSE, Wessex Water, and SGN. He joined GSJP as a groundworker in February 2019 and progressed to Site Foreman within his first year. As the company continued to grow, Mat took responsibility for overseeing multiple projects and became GSJP’s first Contracts Manager. Since then, he has managed increasingly complex projects and larger teams while developing strong, long-standing client relationships.
Mat particularly values the opportunities for progression at GSJP. Driven to be the best he can be, he enjoys continually developing within his role and thrives in the positive, ambitious atmosphere created by the team.
Outside of work, Mat enjoys coaching youth football alongside his son and teammates in the Dorset League, playing golf with friends, and spending quality time with his wife and children.
