Works at the iconic Grade II listed Kings Theatre
Project: GSJP is currently on site for our valued client, Ascia Construction, delivering a challenging package of works at the iconic Grade II listed Kings Theatre in Southsea, Portsmouth.
Project Description: The project will transform part of this historic building to create a new, fully accessible entrance at the heart of the theatre, incorporating a welcoming bar and community space while enhancing accessibility for future generations of visitors.
Planning: With restricted access and extremely limited working space, the project has presented a significant logistical challenge. Careful planning, sequencing and close collaboration have therefore been essential throughout.
Our team has worked closely with Ascia Construction to coordinate each stage of the works, overcome the site constraints and keep the programme moving successfully.
Construction: Our scope of works includes:
Installation of a full piling mat
Piling attendance
Underpinning works
Installation of ground beams
Construction of the ground floor slab.
Health & Safety: Here at GSJP the Health & Safety of our teams on site is the number one priority within our build process. Our management team prepares each item of the works to ensure safety of the team comes first. On this project a strict traffic management plan has been implemented via an in/out delivery route, utilising each end of the site to avoid turning of vehicles within a restricted working area. A carefully managed storage and delivery schedule is operating on site which the entire team is briefed on before any works commence.
Relationships: The strength of the relationship with our clients is reinforced within the processes set out above, and provides us with repeat work whilst ensuring that we continue to raise standards that we achieve through
